David Ferris Wakeland, Sr., 79, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Frances Beavers Wakeland entered into eternal rest Tuesday, November 12, 2013. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 pm. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

David was born October 24, 1934 in Parrish, FL, the son of Ralph Bridgeford Wakeland Sr. and Frances McClamroch Wakeland. He was an Army veteran, was retired from the Commissioners of Public Works, and was a member of Essex Village Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years of Charleston, SC; two daughters, Nancy W. Morrow (Terry) of Charleston, SC; Lori W. Reeve (Daniel) of Summerville, SC; two sons, David F. Wakeland, Jr. (Marcella) of Naples, FL; George B. Wakeland (Shannon) of Charleston, SC; brother, Ralph B. Wakeland, Jr. of Sarasota, FL; and five grandchildren, Tradd Morrow, Courtney Morrow, Gabe Reeve, Madison Reeve and Chase Wakeland.
