David Ray Risher, Sr., 57, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Monday, May 15, 2017. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1519 Sam Rittenberg Blvd at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

David was born July 29, 1959 in Charleston , South Carolina, son of Ray Zetrouer Risher and the late Donald G. Risher. He was a graduate of James Island High School and a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a retired backtender at Westvaco. David enjoyed spending his time fishing, crabbing and being outdoors with his best friend Kingston the Yorkie. He was a former member of the James Island Yacht Club.

He is survived by his mother, Ray Zetrouer Risher of Charleston, SC; son, David R. Risher, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Christy Renee Risher Bivens (Stephen) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; brother, Alan Wayne Risher of Charleston, SC; niece, Jennifer Lane Risher; nephew, Alan Wayne Risher, Jr. and close family friend George H. Brisben.

David was predeceased by his brother, Stephen D. Risher.
