David Ray Wilson was born on July 25, 1958 in Columbus, Mississippi. He entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the morning of February 16, 2026. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 20, 2026 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 12:00 pm. The family will receive one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

David graduated from Middleton High School in Charleston, SC in 1976. He attended The University of South Carolina before going into the construction business. He was the owner of D.R. Wilson Construction Company. David was a longstanding member of the James Island American Legion Post 147 for almost 30 years. He was an avid Alabama fan and proudly wore his Alabama hat everywhere he went. David was a loyal and loving brother and will be greatly missed.

David is survived by his son, Jacob Thadeus Wilson; his brother, Charles Wilson; his sister, Cynthia Wilson Hawkins (Arlan); and his nephew, Arlan Hawkins, II.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Hilton Wilson; his mother, Charlotte Armour Wilson; and his niece, Rachael Hawkins Cummings.

Memorials can be made to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
