David Richard Lair

David Richard Lair, 75, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Marilyn Stanley Lair entered into eternal rest Sunday, February 25, 2018. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 1, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL FROM 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery, 70 Cunnington Street, Charleston, SC.

David was born November 12, 1942 in Gloversville, New York, son of the late Richard Franklin Lair. He served 22 years in the S.C. Army National Guard and four years in the Navy aboard the USS Canopus. He was retired Civil Service, a member of the USS Canopus Reunion Group, and a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church of North Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marilyn Lair of Charleston, SC; daughter, Kim Smith (Kevin) of Summerville, SC; son, Todd Lair (Mandi) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three grandchildren, Riley, Landon, Henry; three sisters, Ruth Perieicich of Amsterdam, NY, Jean Booth of Mayfield, NY, Mary Lou Bennett of Northville, NY. He was preceded in death by two sisters Joan Rauer, Judy Marty Paine, and a brother Dale Lair.
