David Owen Kaylor

David Owen Kaylor beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, at the age of 81.

Born on March 28, 1944, in Bluefield, West Virginia, David was the son of the late Owen and Oreda Kaylor. He graduated from Bluefield High School and earned a BA in Business from West Virginia Wesleyan College.

David spent his professional life in sales and sales management with Roche Pharmaceuticals, where he built a respected and successful career. David and his beloved wife, Karen Kaylor, celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage. He was the proud father of three daughters: Katharine Slayden (Barry), Karoline Williamson (Joe), and Kimberly Kaylor. His legacy continues through his six cherished grandchildren: Jack Slayden, Luke Slayden, Katie Grace Williamson, Owen Williamson, Evan Wollman, and Libby Wollman; loving brother Charles Kaylor (Margaret); and many loved nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents and brother Lewis Kaylor.

David enjoyed cheering on the SC Gamecocks with his family, spending time boating, and volunteering in the South Bay Retirement Community, where he served on several committees.

David was a proud member of the Masons, Shriners, the Gideons, and was a devoted member of the Southern Baptist faith.

A service to celebrate David's life will be held on Friday, May 2,2025 at 1:00pm at Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd. Mt. Pleasant. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private burial will follow the service where he will be laid to rest surrounded by those who loved him.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the kind physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists at Roper St. Francis Hospital in Mount Pleasant for their compassionate care during David's final days.

David leaves a legacy of faith, family and community that will endure in the hearts of all that know him.
