David Lawrence Fortiere, 79, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Nancy Alston Siegling Fortiere entered into eternal rest Tuesday, April 23, 2019. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 in Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, 1204 Middle Street at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Dave was born August 20, 1939 in Melrose, Massachusetts, son of the late Daniel Fortiere and Mary Kathleen Cassidy Fortiere. He attended Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire. Dave was a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy, honorably serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Club of Annapolis and VFW Post 3137.

Dave is survived by his wife, Nancy Alston Siegling Fortiere; daughter; Suzanne; son, Christopher and his wife Karen; sister, Mary F. Graves and her husband Ron; and three grandchildren.
