David Wayne Fontenot, 50, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Susan Rebecca Knight Fontenot, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 peacefully at home.

Born July 28, 1961 in Fort Worth, TX; he was one of three children of Louis Anthony Fontenot and Minnie Ruth Spell Fontenot. He was a salesman in the automobile industry.

David is survived by his wife of 21 years, Susan Fontenot; children, Brandon David Fontenot and Lauren Rebecca Fontenot all of North Charleston, SC; mother, Minnie Ruth Fontenot of Daniel Island, SC; sister, Diana Fontenot Cutrell and her husband Michael of Hanahan, SC; parents-in-law, Wayne and Carolyn Knight of North Charleston, SC; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Linda Fontenot Coatney.

The funeral service will be held at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 11:00 am. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Monday, June 18, 2012 between 6:00 and 8:00 pm.
