In Loving Memory of David Anthony Mitchum, Jr. (DJ). DJ was the beloved son of Shannon Lynn Mitchum and David Anthony Mitchum, Sr. He was born May 14, 1997 in Mount Pleasant, SC and called Huger, SC his home. He was a cherished brother to Brittany Mitchum (Randy Wade) and adored uncle to Kynlee Wade, Beau Wade, and Chase Wade. DJ also shared a deep bond with his special cousins and hunting buddies, Daniel, Brian, and John-Henry Ebeling. In DJ's heart, family always came first. He loved his parents unconditionally and treasured his close relationship with his sister. DJ found immense joy in spending time with his nieces and nephews and was always there to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. DJ had a passion for hunting and embraced every opportunity to immerse himself in the great outdoors. Whether it was deer hunting, duck hunting, or hog hunting, you could always count on DJ to be in his element. DJ's life was cut short while he was pursuing his love for hunting. He was out bear hunting when God called him home. DJ, was a dedicated employee of the Structural Group, where he served as a skilled Pipe Fitter. His commitment to his work and expertise were greatly valued by all who knew him.

In addition to his immediate family, DJ held a special place in the hearts of his grandparents, George Allen and Bobby Mitchum, as well as his maternal grandmother, Linda Ludlam and step-grandmother Sandra Causey.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather Grady Causey and step-grandfather, Preston Ludlam. DJ also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever miss his presence. DJ's circle of friends was a testament to his warm and friendly nature. He shared a deep friendship with Katie Knight and Bradley Willis, with whom he spent countless memorable moments. The impact DJ made on the lives of his family and friends is immeasurable. His genuine love, kindness, and willingness to lend a helping hand will be forever etched in their hearts.

As we bid farewell to DJ, we take solace in knowing that his spirit will live on, and the memories he created will never be forgotten. DJ Mitchum, you will be deeply missed. May your soul find eternal peace. His graveside service will be held Friday, November 3, 2023 at Halfway Creek Cemetery at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.
