David Arnold Buckner

David Arnold Buckner, 88,of Ravenel, South Carolina, husband of Patricia Bishop Buckner entered into eternal rest Friday, June 26, 2026. His funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Ravenel, 5987 Highway 165, followed by burial in the churchyard. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 11 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC.

David was born on September 20, 1937, in Charleston, South Carolina, a son of the late Guy Leonard Buckner, Sr. and Rosa Nettles Buckner. He operated his own business in sales for over 30 years until retiring in 2018. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Ravenel and enjoyed attending services weekly. One of his greatest joys was working outdoors in his garden and tending to his animals.

He is survived by his two daughters, Davita Ivey (Tony) of Moncks Corner, SC, Lisa Sterling (Dan) of Dyer, TN; four stepdaughters, Rose Swann, Barbara O'Connor, Debra Ramsey (Doug) and Tammy Sarvis.; two stepsons Thomas Nunley (Linda) and Hal Sarvis. Proud grandfather of 29, great-grandfather of 40, and great-great-grandfather of 2 and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his two sisters Doris (Jack) Fowler (Bill) Hardy and Gloria Jean Buckner; two brothers, Guy Leonard Buckner ,Jr. (Betty), Donald Buckner (Myrtle Rae); three stepsons, Gene Nunley (Karen), Perry Winnig (Barbara), and Robert Winnig.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Ravenel, but flowers will also be accepted.
