David Lee Bishop

David Lee Bishop, 76, of Folly Beach, South Carolina, husband of Linda Pettigrew Bishop, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, May 31, 2022. A Memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in James Island Presbyterian Church, 1632 Fort Johnson Road at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

David was born June 16, 1945 in Hollywood, Florida, son of the late Dean F. Bishop and Lois Rawls Bishop. He held a degree in Math from Bethel College and a degree in Architecture from Clemson University.  David was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and following his enlistment became an Architect and was a career Civil Servant with Naval Facilities Engineering Command. He was a faithful, Christian man of God, who above all, loved his family and spending time with them (as well as with all of his many pets.) David was a wonderful protector and provider for his family. He was an incredible storey-teller and fixer of all problems. He loved traveling, participating in mission trips, fishing, boating, listening and dancing to all types of music. David will forever be remembered by those who loved him. 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda; two daughters: Melissa B. Rabon (Robert) of Summerville, SC and Alison B. Crane (Chris) of Charleston, SC; sister, Lisa Cashell of Birmingham, AL;  four grandchildren: Tyler Rabon (Mary Kathryn), Zachary Rabon, Bailey Crane and Porter Crane; and a great-granddaughter, Palmer Rabon.

David was predeceased by his brother, Steve Bishop.
