David Andrew Bednarczyk

David Andrew Bednarczyk, 63, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, October 31, 2023. Memorial Service will be held Monday, November 6, 2023 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, at 3:00 pm and will be livestreamed on the church's website. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel. 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy. 

David was born August 27, 1960 in Bellaire, Ohio, of the late Andrew Bednarczyk and Nora Marie Fankhauser Bednarczyk. He graduated from River High School in Hannibal, Ohio in 1978. He received an associates degree in Electrical Engineering from Belmont Technical College in 1980 and then received a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University in 1986. He was a loyal, hardworking, and dedicated friend, family member, and coworker. He worked most of his career as a US Navy civilian supporting the submarine fleet for the US and their coalition allies. As a program manager, he ensured submarine communications across the globe. Not only was he a decorated civil servant, he was also a beloved father to Andrew “AJ” Bednarczyk and Magdaleine “Maggie” Bednarczyk. He always put his childrens’ needs and desires far before his own. He truly enjoyed spending time on the water, and took great pride in his boat, also known as his floating man cave.  David was an elder and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his children, Andrew James Bednarczyk of Charleston, SC; daughter, Magdaleine Marie Bednarczyk of Charleston, SC; and their mother, Christine Johnson Bednarczyk; sister, Pamela Corwin of Powhatan Point, OH; and many loved friends and family.

Memorial gifts may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church and will be designated to help with caring for the church grounds and assisting with The Hands of Christ.
