Dr. David Craig Apple, 57, of Mount Pleasant, SC, died Thursday, August 30, 2012. The relatives and friends of David Apple are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Monday, September 3, 2012, in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, at 10:00 am. The family will receive friends at the chapel immediately following the service. A Graveside Service will be held in Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, NC. on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
Dr. Apple was born June 15, 1955 in Reidsville, North Carolina, son of W. B. Apple, Jr. and the late Dorothy Wilson Apple. He was educated in Reidsville Public Schools, Rockingham Community College, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and Wake Forest - Bowman Gray School of Medicine, in Winston-Salem, NC. He completed his medical residency in Charleston, SC and was named outstanding resident during his last year. After completing his medical residency, David joined an Internal Medicine partnership in Charleston, SC. He served as project manager for the renovation of the medical practice offices, and later moved his practice to Mt. Pleasant, where he was also project manager for a new medical practice complex. It was there that he established a medical health spa.
David was a devoted father, who found great joy in his relationship with his children. He offered them unconditional understanding and provided them with every opportunity within his abilities. They loved to hear him share his stories about his childhood as well as their own. David was a gifted writer; he touched many souls through his letters and stories.
He is survived by his father and step-mother, W.B. "Dud" and Pat Apple of Reidsville, NC; his sons, Joseph Wilson Apple, of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Benjamin Burkett Apple, US Army; his daughter, Katherine Grey Apple of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his sisters, Anne Lee and her husband Donnie of Reidsville, NC, and Susan Neuhoff and her husband Jimmy of Greenville, NC; his brother, Dee Apple and his wife Nancy of Pennington, NJ; and his nieces and nephews, Heather Lee, Keatts Lee, Kristen Apple, Olivia Apple, and Will Apple. He was preceded in death by his mother, and his grandparents, Dick and Lorraine Apple, and Harry and Mamie Wilson.
