David Michael Allen, 47, went to be with his Heavenly Father in the morning hours of Friday, July 25th, 2025. His funeral service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel 2180 Greenridge Road at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel.
Born on May 29, 1978, in Oceanside, California, David lived in California, Texas, many other mid-west States and eventually found his way to the South Carolina coast, where he built a beautiful life. As fate (and his love of travel) would have it, David met the love of his life, Julie, in 2019 at Charleston International Airport. Their chance meeting blossomed into a life full of love, laughter, strong friendships, and community. Together, they welcomed their beautiful son, Houston, and with big brother Rhett (Hatfield), created a home filled with Christian values, high energy, and unforgettable memories.
To know David, was to love him and call him friend. His infectious laugh, larger-than-life personality, and unwavering love for his friends and family, left an imprint on every heart he touched. A man with an impressive resume of many skills and trades, David proudly spent the past four years as the Lamination Manager for Scout Boats. He also took his role as Security Supervisor with United Event Services, Inc. seriously, when his family schedule allowed. He enjoyed attending the shows and helping people. David was a deeply loyal fan of the Houston Texans, Houston Astros, and his yearly fantasy football teams. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He could regularly be found on a disc golf course, coaching a 9u North Charleston Recreation Department Soccer team, relaxing in the garage with friends and neighbors with a cold drink, or enjoying a day at the beach with his family. A full calendar was always expected.
He is survived by his wife, Julie, his children, Ethan Allen (23), Kylee Allen (17), Rhett Hatfield (9), and Houston Allen (4). His parents, David (Elizabeth) Allen, and Lori (Howard) Horton, siblings Tim (Alice) Allen, Amy (Josh) Bickle, Victor (Jessica) Horton and Kristen Georger.
The unexpected passing of David has left us bereft. We’ll miss his presence every single day, and until we see him again, “The garage is always open!”
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks consideration be made for the success and financial health of the Allen family @DavidAllenFamily via Venmo.
