Darryl Dale Cantu

Darryl Dale Cantu, 66, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Linda Schauland Cantu, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015. The family will hold a service in Illinois at a later date. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Darryl was born April 22, 1948 in Joliet, Illinois, son of the late Angelo Cantu and Sophie Kauzlaric Cantu. He enjoyed being outdoors and especially fishing, gardening, and metal detecting. One of Darryl's great joys was being with his grandchildren, and he was known for his love of animals, especially strays.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Schauland Cantu of Mount Pleasant, SC; his children, Darin Cantu and his wife, Elizabeth of Jacksonville, FL and Jennifer Cantu of Tampa, FL; his grandchildren, Sarah Cantu and Daniel Cantu; and his sister, Dorla Cantu of San Francisco, CA. Darryl is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mark and Patricia Schauland of Plainfield, IL and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Cantu.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Heart Assoc. of SC, Memorial Processing Center, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060 or Pet Helpers, 1447 Folly Road, James Island, SC 29412.
