Darrell John Crawford, 78, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Catherine Allison Howell Crawford, entered into eternal rest Sunday, April 10, 2022. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 21, 2022 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The visitation will be followed by an Evening Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.
 
Darrell was born July 1, 1943 in Sanger, California, son of the late Walton G. Crawford and Vivian Gass Crawford. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War, ultimately retiring from a career of Civil Service in which his work supported a U.S. Coast Guard Base and the Citadel Military College of South Carolina. Darrell was an avid Civil War enthusiast. He also was a collector of railroad memorabilia and loved finding and restoring old furniture and keepsakes.  He was a member of the Charleston Elks Lodge and enjoyed spending time attending dances with his beloved wife. 
 
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Jerry Wayne Turn, Jr. (Sara) of Charleston, SC and  Richard Lewis Turn (Carrie) of Palatka, FL; a sister, Joyce Provost of Sanger, CA; a brother, David Crawford (Bev) of Celeste, TX; and grandchildren Megan Turn and Daniel Turn.
