Dargan Carlysle Rogers of Charleston, SC, husband of Patricia A. Rogers, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Due to Covid-19, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
Dargan was born July 7, 1941 in Manning, SC, a son of the late Theron Everette Rogers and Pearl Dennis Rogers. He graduated from Manning High School where he lettered in football, basketball and baseball. Dargan then attended St. Andrews College. After a lifelong career in the building supplies business in Charleston, he enjoyed a number of years of retirement with his wife and family. Dargan was a member of First Christian Church where he served as a deacon and served on numerous committees. In his early years he played many seasons of slow pitch softball at St. Andrews Park and Playground as well as a few seasons of church league fast pitch softball. Dargan enjoyed sports of all kind, working in the yard, going antiquing and celebrating someone else's birthday with a dinner. He will be remembered as an easy going, kind and loyal southern gentlemen who was always willing to help you whenever you needed it.
Besides his wife of Charleston, Dargan is survived by his sons: Carl Rogers of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Greg Rogers of Hanahan, SC; a grandson, Dargan Mathis Rogers of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a sister, Jan Rogers Hardy (Rubin) of Manning, SC; in-laws: Sandra and J.C. Floyd, Billy and Debbie Ardis and Bob Spigner, all of Manning, SC; and loving nieces, nephews and other family members. He was predeceased by a sister, Lois Rogers Spigner, of Manning, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
