Dannie Leroy Grimes, 89, of Summerville, South Carolina, husband of the late Frances Louise Fullwood Grimes, entered into eternal rest Thursday, August 29, 2024. His Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2024 in the Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel.

Dannie was born October 12, 1934 in Garfield, Georgia, son of the late Sam Grimes and Etta Mae Proctor Grimes.

He is survived by his son, Nicholas Grimes (Chris) of Summerville, SC; daughter, Cheryl R. Grimes (Paige) of Murrells Inlet, SC; grandsons, Donald Nicholas Grimes II (Emili) of Lake Wylie, SC; Daniel of Summerville, SC and Justin; and great-granddaughter Frannie

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael; brother Darriel (Uncle Bud) and sisters Dorothy, Trauby, and Genell.
