Daniel Edward Hydrick, III, 65, husband of Mary Miller Hydrick of Clyde, NC passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. The family and friends of Dan Hydrick are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday, March 16, 2012 at the graveside in Gregorie Venning Cemetery (Venning Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC) at 2:00 pm. Dan was born on October 16, 1946 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, son of the late Daniel Edward Hydrick, Jr. and Sallie Trott Hydrick. He graduated from Porter Military Academy and attended the College of Charleston and North Texas State University. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Dan started the Charleston Carriage Company in 1972 which was the first horse drawn tour company in the city of Charleston and was instrumental in establishing Charleston as a tourism destination. He went on to work in the movie industry as a Boss Wrangler, Livestock Coordinator, Location Scout and Film Consultant.
He is survived by his wife Mary Hydrick of Clyde, NC; one son, Daniel Edward Hydrick, IV and his wife, Linda, of Charleston, SC; one daughter, Sarah Hydrick Ogden and her husband,. Tom, of New York, NY; grandchildren, Lucy Royall Hydrick and Cambridge Trott Hydrick, both of Charleston, SC; uncle, Cambridge Monroe Trott, Jr. of Charleston and Rockville, SC; cousins, Anne Trott, Cambridge Monroe Trott, IV and John West Trott.
