Daniel Goldmintz

Daniel  Goldmintz, 85, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Iris Thomas Goldmintz entered into eternal rest Monday, May 1, 2023.  

Daniel was born February 21, 1938 in Quantico, Virginia, son of Harry Goldmintz and Mary Howard Goldmintz. He was employed as a Microbiologist at NIH, and later as the Director of Microbiology at NMFS/NOAA in Maryland and then in Charleston. Daniel received his Bachelors of Science Degree from William & Mary, and Master's Degree in Bacteriology from Virginia Tech. He also attended the PhD program at the University of Maryland. 

Danny was happiest spending time fishing with his wife Iris and sons David and Mark.  A voracious reader, Daniel was creative and often could be found working on projects, sketching and painting, and engaging in photography.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Iris Goldmintz of Charleston, SC; son, David Goldmintz and his wife Claire of Charleston, SC; grandson, Jacob Goldmintz of Charleston, SC; and granddaughter, Jenna Eve Goldmintz of Los Angeles, CA.

There will be a small family service at the J. Henry Stuhr Funeral Chapel in Downtown Charleston.
