Daniel (Danny) C. Douglas Jr., of Hanahan, SC, loving husband of Sandy Tyler Douglas went to be with his Lord Jesus on June 3, 2021. He was at home, surrounded by loved ones. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, June 6, 2021 in the Restoration Community Church, 6058 Miami Street, Hanahan at 3:00 pm. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston.
Danny was born on October 4, 1948 in Fall River, MA. He was the son of the late Daniel C Douglas and the late Nellie Habib Douglas. He attended Hanahan High School, and he served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Danny was retired from Shell Oil Company after working there for 30 years. He was a member of Restoration Community Church in Hanahan, which is how he came to know Jesus. He loved this church. He and Sandy loved snow skiing out west and treasure the special memories of their trips to Europe. He was a Clemson Tiger fan, and in his younger years was a runner and surfer.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy of Hanahan, SC; brother, Richard E. Douglas of Phoenix, AZ, mother-in-law Mary E. Tyler of Hanahan, sister-in-law, Crystal Cassels of Hanahan, brother-in-law, Dale (Wilma) Tyler of Hanahan, and four special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his precious Persian cat, Mickey.
Danny suffered from the rare brain disorder Posterior Cortical Atrophy for 15 years. It was finally and quickly diagnosed at the Mayo Clinic after many years of seeing specialists here. We would like to give special thanks to his caregivers Annette Carpenter and Sheila Jordan. We would also like to thank Agape Care for their excellent care.
