Daniel Wilson Davis

Daniel Wilson Davis, 72, of Hanahan, SC, husband of Mary Coté Davis entered into eternal rest Tuesday, June 13, 2023. His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 10:00 am in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road. Interment to follow service at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Stuhr Northwoods Chapel.

Dan was born February 2, 1951 in Hemingway, SC, and was the son of the late Harold Lambuth Davis, Sr. and the late Lois Elizabeth Poston Davis.  He recieved his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Public Administration from the University of South Carolina, and was an avid follower of Gamecock sports.  He opened the Coastal Carolina Flea Market in 1981, and successfully ran it with his wife Mary.  He was the former circuit rider city administrator for the Florence area, the former city administrator for the City of Belton and Hanahan.  He served as the Berkely County Supervisor for two terms.  He was the former head of church council at St. James UMC in Goose Creek, a member of the Hanahan Exchange Club, and a Shriner.  He personally flew burn patients from all over the country to the Cincinatti Burn Center.  His passions included: camping with friends, traveling the world with his wife, fishing, playing golf, and flying his plane.  What he loved most was spending time with his family, but most especially his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Davis; son, Tyler Davis and his wife Mabel of Lexington, SC; two grandsons, Connor (7) and Ian (3); his beloved dog, Kadie; two siblings, Hal Davis, Jr. of Port St. Lucie, FL (niece Shannon and nephew Erik) and Randall Davis of Kingstree, SC (niece Ashley).
