Dana Elizabeth Bowick Brawdy of James Island, SC went home to be with Jesus Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. 2023. Dana died in her home surrounded by her mother and siblings. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2023 in Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Hwy at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends Tuesday in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
She was born in Charleston, SC on September 10, 1967 to Clancy and Libby Bowick. Dana grew up on James Island, Mt. Pleasant and Isle of Palms, SC. She graduated from Wando High School and Trident Technical College. Initially her career was in phlebotomy and she later became an esthetician. Dana worked for Segal Institute for clinical research until she became disabled.
Dana had boundless energy and creativity. She was a loving mother, artist, beach and animal lover. Her hobbies were making jewelry, crocheting, gardening and bird watching. Dana was currently working on learning the Hebrew language in order to better study the scriptures. She was a member of AA and she shared her faith in Christ with people she met. Dana was a student of the Bible Broadcasting Institute where she studied biblical theology. She sought truth and found it in Christ. Dana would quote John 14:6 many times, “ I am the way, the truth and the life; No one comes to the Father but through me.”
She is survived by her son, Wyatt Lee Gary; daughter, Eve Marie Henegar; two sisters: Connie Murray and Greta Cox; two brothers: Clancy Bowick and Brady Bowick; nieces: Blake Hill, Morgan Hill, Kyla Bowick and Haley Bowick; nephew, Matthew; brother-in-law, Dean Murray; Scarlett, Hudson, Ryder, and many loved cousins, aunts and uncles.
Dana was predeceased by her father Clarence Lee "Clancy" Bowick; grandparents; special cousins; aunts and uncles.
As her family, we are heartbroken to lose Dana so early, but we are comforted knowing she’s with her Savior and her loved ones.
