Entered into eternal rest on the morning of March 29, 2011 Master Chief Dale Milton Smith, USN (Ret.), husband of Virginia Simmons Smith.  Residence, Charleston, South Carolina.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Smith are invited to attend the funeral services of the former at Pinecrest Baptist Church, Saturday, April 2, 2011, at 2 pm.  Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Friday afternoon from 5 until 7 pm. 

Mr. Smith was born in Logan County, Colorado on December 10, 1927.  He was retired Master Chief with the United States Navy with 32 years of service.  He received an MBA from The Citadel and was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Virginia Smith of Charleston; two daughters, Stephanie Hauschild and husband Yogi of Awendaw, SC and Linda Kennard and husband Eddie of Savannah, GA; two sons, Dale Smith and James Cook both of Johns Island; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
