Cynthia Hunter Sokol, 67, of Charleston, passed after a brief illness on August 10, 2026. 

Cindi was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Bolt Hunter. She was born in Charleston and raised throughout the local area. She was a graduate of Bishop England High School. Cindi never met a stranger and always made the best out of every situation. She enjoyed arts and crafts, plants and music.She spent her later years working hard and prioritizing quality time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She was never too busy, too tired, or too sick to be there for those she loved. Cindi’s beautiful smile, loving heart, and compassion will be forever remembered and cherished.

She is survived by her former husband, Ed Sokol; son, Benjamin N. Sokol (Chandler Coggin); her daughter, Maxie S. Busey (Kyle) and grandsons, Charles and Brooks Busey.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, August 22nd at 6:00 PM at 13th street East Ashley/Lucy Beck access on Folly Beach.
