Cynthia Wilkins Hydrick, age 75, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late William Russell Hydrick.

Born on May 27, 1951, in Guyton, Georgia, Cynthia was the cherished daughter of John Lawrence Wilkins and Alice Dean Gray Wilkins, both of whom preceded her in death.

Professionally, Cynthia contributed meaningfully as a billing service manager for the waterworks department, where her diligence and commitment were deeply valued. Away from work, she found delight in gardening and cherished the moments she spent shagging-a dance she loved sharing with her late husband. Above all, Cynthia treasured the time spent with her grandchildren, who brought endless joy and light into her life.

She is survived by her two children: Amanda Hydrick Hawver of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and Anne Hydrick Mann and her husband Joel of Huger, South Carolina. Cynthia’s legacy continues through her three grandchildren, Dean Hawver, JD Mann, and Grace Mann, who were a constant source of pride and happiness for her. She also leaves behind her sibling, Marion Wilkins and his wife Rosalyn of Sullivan’s Island, along with many cherished nieces and nephews who held her dear.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, WIlliam Russell Hydrick, and her siblings, John Lawrence Wilkins, Robert Milton Wilkins, and Barbara Ann Alkire.

A funeral service to honor Cynthia’s life will take place on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Stella Maris Catholic Church, located at 1203 Middle Street, Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina. Family, friends, and all who knew Cynthia are invited to join in this celebration of her life, which will be followed by a reception at the Fish Fry Shack, 1459 Hennessy Street. A private interment will be held later at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, where Cynthia will rest alongside her late husband.

Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
