Chief Warrant Officer 4 Thomas William Cavanaugh, Jr. (US Navy, Retired), 74, of Ravenel, South Carolina, husband of Kathryn N. McDaniel Cavanaugh passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013 in the John Wesley United Methodist Church, 626 Savannah Highway. Inurnment will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Beaufort National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.Chief Warrant Officer 4 Cavanaugh, Jr. was born February 19, 1938 in Brookville, Long Island, New York, son of the late Thomas William and Edna Falconer Cavanaugh. A retired veteran of the US Navy, having served during Vietnam, he was a former plant engineer at Roper Hospital, and later was the owner of The Toddy Shop. Chief Warrant Officer 4 Cavanaugh was a member of the James Island Yacht Club, the USS Enterprise Association, the USS Inchon Association, the USS Saratoga Association, and the USS Roosevelt Association.He is survived by his wife, Kathryn N. McDaniel Cavanaugh of Ravenel, SC; his daughter, Anne Marie Barrack and her companion, Eric Floyd of James Island, SC; his sons, Thomas Cavanaugh of Summerville, SC, and Michael Cavanaugh and his wife, Kim of Summerville, SC; his step-son, Braden McDaniel and his wife, Gina of Fairfax, VA; his step-daughter, Ryan Terrell and her husband, Bryan of Daniel Island, SC; his grandchildren, Michael Barrack, Justin Barrack, Michael Wilson, Katlyn Cavanaugh, Kimmie Jo Cavanaugh, Henry Terrell, Sam Terrell, Della Terrell, and Dylan McDaniel; his sister, Patricia Cavanaugh Alexander and her husband, Walter of Henderson, NV; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth H. Northington of Duncan, OK; his former spouse, Carolyn Cavanaugh of Summerville, SC; nieces, Jo Ann Nelson of St. Louis, MO, and Debra Hampson of Lindenhurst, Long Island, NY; and nephews, Michael Alexander of Rockville Centre, Long Island, NY and Thomas Alexander of Farmington, NY.
