Cullen Charles Schimmel

Cullen Charles "Chuck" Schimmel, 83, of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, January 17, 2013. All services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Mr. Schimmel was born in Toledo, OH on December 13, 1929, a son of the late George and Lelah Schimmel. He graduated from Waite High School, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Germany. He worked at Champion Spark Plug for over 30 years and retired to Mt. Pleasant in the mid-1980's.
Mr. Schimmel is survived by his children, Mark Schimmel and his wife, Tammy of Oak Harbor, OH, Vicki Jeschke and her husband, John of Oregon, OH, and Patricia Bird and her husband, David of Wolverine, MI; his grandchildren, Scott Schimmel, Stacy Hainer, Tom Tack, Lyndsey Jeschke, David Jeschke, Amy Pendley, and Chris Bird; eight great-grandchildren; and his brother, Gary Schimmel of Huron, OH. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy.
Chuck and Dorothy enjoyed their retirement. They traveled and enjoyed the game of golf. It should be noted that he was a Mason for over 50 years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Mr. Schimmel's memory to Ducks Unlimited, Inc., One Waterfowl Way, Memphis, TN 38120, or the National Rifle Association (NRA) of America, 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, VA 22030.
