Turner Lee Richards, lovingly known as Cricket, passed away at the age of 63 on March 28, 2025, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Cricket leaves behind her loving husband of 10 years Morgan Robinson, her devoted daughter, Brittany Wilson, son-in-law Kyle Wilson, loving parents, Robert and Frenchie Richards, stepson Greyson Robinson (Harley) as well as Uncle Batson Hewitt (Dede), Aunt Sissie Hewitt, and Aunt Vicki Causey (David), and many cousins.
Cricket was preceded in death by her Aunt Anne Hewitt, loving Uncle David Hewitt, and her brother, Robert Richards, Jr. Anyone who grew up with Cricket knew she and Rob’s days were often spent on the picturesque Wando River, where they created beautiful memories crabbing, shrimping, and boating together.
Cricket had a remarkable ability to form deep connections with others. She found a second family in Mary Simmons, who was another mother to her, and George Simmons as a brother.
Cricket and Morgan's home was a hub of celebration where gatherings in their backyard created lasting memories with friends and family, especially their wonderful Christmas parties. Cricket loved any reason to gather close to friends, laugh, and dance the night away. To those lucky enough to know her, she never met a stranger.
A talented artist, Cricket was renowned for her hand-crafted Christmas ornaments, notably her cotton boll angels, which brought joy to many.
Cricket had a profound faith in her Lord Jesus Christ, a faith that sustained her through life’s challenges. We take comfort knowing she is dancing in Heaven right now.
A funeral service celebrating Cricket’s life will be held at the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel on Thursday, April 3rd, at 1 pm. Information for the post gathering will be available after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Camp Happy Days, ensuring that Cricket’s legacy of kindness and generosity continues to touch the lives of others.
