CPO Walter "Joe" Joseph Rodgers

CPO Walter Joe Rodgers, Jr., USN Ret., 61, entered into eternal rest November 15, 2014 in Jacksonville, NC. His family will receive friends Thursday, November 20, 2014 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, SC 29406 from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm.

Walter was born on June 9, 1953 in Lackawanna, NY son of Walter and Vivian Rodgers. Joe joined the U.S Navy and retired with twenty-one years service. After retiring he went on to receive his B.A. in Business Administration. Joe volunteered for various organizations including the American Red Cross, various military family centers and with the DoDEA overseas in Italy, Germany and mainland Japan.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kate; children: Renea Fiorella, Nicholas Rupert, Mari Hummer and Thomas Rodgers; his mother, Vivian Rodgers; and seven grandchildren: Janea and Marissa Fiorella, Erik Skipper, Jessica Rupert, Darion and Jolee Hummer, and Hunter Keener.
