Cornelius O'Neal Smith

December 30, 1920 — January 27, 2014

Cornelius O'Neal Smith, 93, of Johns Island, South Carolina, husband of the late Mary Elisabeth Smith, died Monday, January 27, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2014, in Harbor Light Baptist Church, 1300 Fort Johnson Road, at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Cornelius was born December 30, 1920 in Furman, South Carolina, son of the late George Winton Smith and the late Eva Youmans Smith.

He is survived by his daughter, Elda Hanf (Joseph B.), of James Island, SC; granddaughter, Joanne Tucker (Paul), of Johns Island, SC; grandson, Jason Hanf (Laura), of Gastonia, NC; three great-grandchildren: Bailey O'Neal Tucker, Jenna Tucker, and Madison Hanf; and his brother, Lynn Hammond Smith (Marjorie), of James Island, SC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elisabeth Smith; mother, Eva Smith; and father, George Winton Smith.

Memorials may be made to Harbor Light Baptist Church, 1300 Ft. Johnson Road, James Island, SC 29412.
