Cora Lee Taylor duPont, 87, of Charleston, South Carolina, formerly married to Eugene duPont, III, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 5, 2012. ARRANGEMENTS BY J. HENRY STUHR, Downtown Chapel. Cora Lee was born April 25, 1925 in East Bend, North Carolina, daughter of Rufus King Taylor and Nancy Jester Taylor.

She attended Hunter College in New York. Mrs. duPont retired as a Fashion Consultant. She was associated with the Hattie Carnegie boutique of New York City. Mrs. duPont was active in the fashion and modeling world in Winston Salem, New York City, Paris, Milan, and Rome in the 1940's and 1950's. She remained an active community volunteer after retirement in Charleston. Cora Lee loved her daughter and adored her three grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Genette Lee McShane (Michael); granddaughters, Grace, Aimee and Caroline McShane of Johns Island and several nieces and nephews. Cora Lee was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings.

The family expresses its profound appreciation to the staff at Bishop Gadsden for their ministry of care.

A funeral service will be in The Chapel at Bishop Gadsden on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 4:00pm. The family will be greeting relatives and friends after the service. Burial will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to Nemours Wildlife Foundation, 161 Nemours Plantation Road, Yemassee, South Carolina 29945.
