Constance "Connie" Evelyn Butler, 93, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Charles David Butler, entered into eternal rest Sunday, April 20, 2014. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014, in Grace United Methodist Church, 1601 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard, at 12:30 pm. Burial Services will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Connie was born August 1, 1920 in Ightham Kent, England, the daughter of the late Henry Idenden and the late Constance Diplock Idenden. She was a retired medical transcriptionist with Roper Hospital, a member of Grace United Methodist Church for over 40 years and a former church recording secretary for over 25 years. Connie was also a member of the BPOE - D.O.E.S. and the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her two daughters, Eileen Constance O'Brien (Chuck) of Denver, CO and Susan Constance Colvin (Jake) of Charleston, SC; son, Gordon Henry Hancock of Patchogue, NY; three grandchildren, Andrea Andreu (Marc), Kevin Hancock (Tracy) and Scott Hancock (Jessica); and three great-grandchildren, Brennan Hancock, Quinn Hancock and Oscar Henri Andreu.
