Constance Heatley Alston

Constance Heatley Alston, 93, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Reginald Whitaker Alston Jr. entered into eternal rest Friday, October 6, 2023. Her Grave side service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023, in Riverview Memorial Park, 3715 Azalea Drive at 12:30 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Connie was born February 19, 1930, in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Arthur David Heatley and Violet Ayers Heatley McClean. She was an accountant and office manager for Untied Piece Dye works and Port City Bonded Warehouse. In her early years she was office manager for Rhodes furniture in Charleston. She graduated from Chicora High School.

She met the love and heart of her life during her time at Rhodes and celebrated 72 years of marriage. She was a committed long time member of Midland Park United Methodist Church and loved the church and it's family. She was a very loving and nurturing Southern lady and enjoyed encouraging all she met.

She is survived by her daughter, Terry Swinnie (Frank) of Andrews, SC; son, Reginald W Alston III (Debbie) of LaGrange NC; five grandsons, Reginald Alston, IV, John Alston, David Alston, Robert Swinnie, IV, Alston Swinnie; four granddaughters, Kristy Herring, Caroline Alston, Kate King, Fran Swinnie; sister, Cynthia Seyle of GA and 11 great grand children; and a special niece, Diane Bean.
