Constance Sue Ackerman

Constance Sue Ackerman, 78, of Cottageville, South Carolina, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, SC, wife of Marcus Owens Ackerman, Jr. died Monday, April 18, 2016. Her Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 21, 2016 in the Cottageville United Methodist Church, 10685 Cottageville Highway at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Constance was born November 12, 1937 in Crawfordsville, Indiana, daughter of the late William Everett Caile and the late Kathryn D. Heckingbottom Caile. She was a graduate of Iowa State University and was the owner/operator of Wil-Nel Kennel in Charleston, SC and The Dawg Patch in Mt. Pleasant, SC. She had a tremendous love for animals and was active in the Charleston Kennel Club and Palmetto Retriever Club where she judged many events. She was a member of Cottageville United Methodist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherwoman and enjoyed the outdoors.

She is survived by her husband, Marc Ackerman, Jr. of Cottageville, SC; three sons, Troy Lawson Jr. (Debra) of Friendship, WI, Mark Lawson (Christine) of Round O, SC, and Aaron Berg of Charleston, SC; step-son, Marc Ackerman, III (Alisha) of Simpsonville, SC; two step-daughters, Jennifer Mason (Anthony) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Jill Settle (John) of Charleston, SC; brother, William Caile (Sarah) of Boulder, CO; fourteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
