Conrad Walter Linder, 89, peacefully entered eternal life on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 in Charleston, SC after a brief illness. He was surrounded by both of his children at the time of his death.
Born in New York City during the Great Depression, he was the son of Conrad Eugene Linder and Florence Lynch Linder. He was the youngest and only surviving son of six children.
Conrad proudly served in the Army as Sergeant First Class during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return he married his childhood sweetheart, Leona Orbach in 1952. Together they made a wonderful life in Ozone Park, Queens and New Hyde Park, NY. They had two children, Nancy Elizabeth and Philip Conrad. They were married for 54 years when his wife died in 2006.
Conrad is survived by his daughter Nancy, son Philip, son-in law Greg, and daughter-in-law Ellen. He was the grandfather (Papa) of six grandchildren: Kristen, Gabrielle, Conrad, Michael, Hillary, and Philip Jr.; and, three great grandchildren: Emmy, Will, and Mac. He loved them so and they their Papa!
A Memorial Mass will be held on October 1st at Notre Dame Catholic Church, New Hyde Park, NY at 9:15 am, followed by burial at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Notre Dame Parish, 45 Mayfair Road, New Hyde Park, NY 11040. J. Henry Stuhr Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant, SC is assisting the family with their arrangements.
