Columb Flynn (Con), 86 died at home January 22, 2018 surrounded by his loving family in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Columb was born May 5, 1931 in Loughill, Ballinahown Co. Westmeath Ireland, son of the late Bernard Flynn and Bridget Flynn (Fallon). He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Mary Christina Flynn (Moran), 2 daughters and son-in-laws, Maura and Tom Duggan and Caroline and Doug Burke, his grandchildren, Jack, Sam, Joe and Molly, Michaela, Sarah and AnaCapri. Columb is also survived by two sister-in laws, Charla and Carmel Flynn, many nieces and nephews and their families and many friends. He was predeceased by all of his brothers Jackie, Jimmy, Bernie, Paddy, Ollie and Joe Flynn, and his nephew Kameron Flynn.
Columb started his journey in Ballinahown, and at the age of 15 and moved to Mt. Temple to help his aunt run her farm. He stayed there until he was 25 when he moved to London. He worked for Rouse Wates in London for 16 years and married Mary Moran of Co. Mayo in 1960. Together, with their two daughters, they moved to Meriden CT in 1972. Columb worked at Carabetta Enterprises until he retired after 25 years.
Columb was a true gentleman, a man that everybody liked to be around. He loved and dedicated his life to his wife and family. He was kind, always a hard worker, and fiercely loyal. He loved to sing a good Irish song and was always ready for a game of cards. He will be loved forever and greatly missed.
A Requiem Mass was held for Columb, Thursday January 25, 2018 at Christ Our King Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant, prayers of commendation and farewell at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL and laid to rest in the Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. May he Rest In Peace.
