Colleen O'Kelley Hamilton

Colleen O'Kelley Hamilton of Charleston, SC, widow of Richard Donald Hamilton, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 30, 2023.

The daughter of the late Edward Murray O'Kelley and Bessie Lois Clayton O'Kelley, she was born in Charleston on March 24, 1934. Mrs. Hamilton graduated from Charleston High School. A member of Church Creek Presbyterian Church, she felt that God was very good to her, allowing her and her family to travel to many parts of the world. Seeing her family enjoying themselves on these journeys brought her tremendous pleasure.

Mrs. Hamilton is survived by one son, Richard Donald Hamilton, II, as well as many cousins and family members. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Shad Gregory Hamilton.

The family will receive friends in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am. Her funeral service will follow cryptside in Live Oak Memorial Gardens beginning at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Church Creek Presbyterian Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired SC.
