CMSGT Blaine Yelton, USAF (Ret.), 103, of Johns Island, South Carolina, husband of Louise Jordan Yelton entered into eternal rest Saturday, September 1, 2018. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 6, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 7, 2018 in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
Blaine was born August 12, 1915 in Bostic, North Carolina, son of the late Edgar Yelton and Effie Smalley Yelton. He was a WWII, Korea and Vietnam veteran of the USAF and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant. He was an avid outdoorsman, water skier and Nascar fan. He was a member of The USAF Sergeants Association and member of Cane Creek Baptist Church of Union Mills, NC.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Louise Jordan Yelton of Johns Island, SC; two daughters, Patricia L Schroeder-Hill (Tim) of Moncks Corner, SC, Nancy Yelton Soles (Chip) of Johns Island, SC; sister, Betty Yelton of Spindale, NC; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Wilkes Wright.
