CMSgt John Ferrell "Hutch" Hutcheson, USAF, Retired, 78, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Joyce Wildes Hutcheson, died Friday, May 6, 2011, in a local long term care facility.
Born November 28, 1932 in Enterprise, Alabama, he was the son of Irvin C. Hutcheson and Sarah Wingard Hutcheson.
John proudly served our country for over 20 years in the US Air Force and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant. He was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War.
John was also a retired used car sales manager with McElveen Pontiac Buick GMC in Summerville.
He was a member of Smyrna United Methodist Church in Moncks Corner and the American Legion Post 166 in Goose Creek.
John and his wife Joyce enjoyed spending time together and traveling in their RV out West.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, John Michael Hutcheson.
John is survived by his wife of 56 years Joyce; son, Stephen Ferrell Hutcheson and his wife Mary Ann of Lexington, SC; daughter, Suzanne Hutcheson Ritter and her husband Jack of Johns Island; sister, Ann Sherwood and her husband Buddy of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughter, Sarah Ritter and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service with military honors will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 7:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Smyrna United Methodist Church, 724 Cypress Garden Road, Moncks Corner, SC 29461.
