Clement "Red" Marion Grannan, 86, of Charleston, SC, husband of the late Geraldine Grannan passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012. The relatives and friends of Red Grannan are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be held at Christ Our King Catholic Church at at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2012. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. ARRANGEMENTS BY J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Red was born in Kansas City, MO on September 1, 1925, son of the late Clement L and Margaret O'Donnell Grannan. He was a Construction Project Manager and a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. A member of Christ Our King Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, Red was a member of the Knights of Columbus, in which he held the position of Grand Knight. He also served as a Eucharistic Minister at Ashley Park, and was a member of the VFW. Red held the distinction of being the first patient to receive a Cochlear Implant at the Johnson VA Hospital in Charleston. "Red" and his late wife, "Sam" touched the lives of many children while they visited homes and daycare facilities as "Santa and Mrs. Claus",
Red Grannan is survived by his daughter, Michelle Gossett and her husband, Scott of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his grandchildren, Melissa and Kyle Gossett, and Patrick and Michael Grannan; his great-grandchild, Jayden Grannan; and his sister, Margaret Ruckh of Overland Park, KS, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard "Bo" Grannan, daughter, Maureen Grannan Yocum, sons, Patrick Charles Grannan and David Michael Grannan.
