Clement Durr Armstrong, Sr. entered into eternal rest November 3, 2012. Relatives and friends of Clement Durr Armstrong, Sr. are invited to attend his Requiem Mass at 10:00 am Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at The Church of The Holy Communion. Burial will be at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday between 4:00 and 6:00 pm at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street.
Clement was born October 23, 1921 in Summerville, South Carolina. He was the son of the late John F. Armstrong and Maggie Mae Veronee Armstrong. He was a lifelong Charleston resident, graduate of Murray Vocational High School, World War II Naval Veteran, and retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as Head Shop Planner of Public Works. He was a lifelong member of The Church of the Holy Communion having served as Master of Acolytes for 35 years.
A wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, he will be deeply missed by his wife Lois of 69 years, sons Clement Durr Armstrong, Jr. and Robert Stanley Armstrong, Sr. (Dale Crowell), and daughter Lori Armstrong Nix (Charles); six grandsons Robert Stanley Armstrong, Jr. (Denise), Christopher Edward Armstrong, Jason Bradley Armstrong, Anthony Durr Armstrong, Alexander John Armstrong, Thomas William Moran (Laura), and one granddaughter Alicia Armstrong Webb as well as five great grandchildren Megan Armstrong, James Armstrong, Madison Armstrong, Paisley Armstrong and Ryleigh Katherine Moran.
