Clela Philpott Poindexter, 98, of Ladson, South Carolina, widow of Charles Poindexter entered into eternal rest Sunday, December 23, 2018. The family will receive friends Friday, December 28, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.

Clela was born December 11, 1920 in Roanoke, Virginia, daughter of the late John P. Philpott and Mammie Peery Philpott. She was a retired newspaper clerk with the Post And Courier.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Barnes (Reginald) of Charleston, SC, nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and special friend Marcia Schneider. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her three sons, William Poindexter, Victor Poindexter and Ronald Poindexter, Sr.
