Clayton Simmons Bruder

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of August 18, 2011.  Clayton "Billie" Simmons Bruder, wife of Albert Ralston Bruder, Jr., residence, Folly Beach, SC.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ralston Bruder, Jr. are invited to attend the graveside service of the latter, Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 11:30am in St. James Episcopal Churchyard, James Island.  Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Tuesday between 5-7 pm.

Billie was born February 12, 1926, the daughter of Frank Simmons and Tessie Hill Simmons.  She received her education at Coker College and the University of South Carolina.  She taught school for a number of years and was a former member of Beta Sigma Phi.  She retired as a bookkeeper from the City Hall of Folly Beach, SC, after a number of years as Office Manager at the Atlantic House Restaurant.

Billie is survived by her husband of Charleston, SC; children: F. Ben Turner of Atlanta, GA, James E. Turner, Jr. of Monroe, NC, Eleanor Turner Kisner of Jacksonville, FL, Albert R. Bruder, III of Greer, SC and John Anthony Bruder of Charleston, SC; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; her sister, Ruth Elizabeth Coates of Port Royal, SC.  She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Billie will be remembered by those who knew her for her free and fun-loving spirit and compassion for her family and friends.
