It is with profound sadness and a never-ending love that the family of Claudia Inabinet Hanley announce her sudden passing on September 22nd, 2021 at the age of 52.
Claudia will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Bailey and Casey; her sisters, Merritt and Eleanor; her step-sister, Adrian; her nieces and nephew, Jessie, Emilie, and Hughes; many other relatives; numerous friends; and her father, Barry Hammett.
Claudia was predeceased by her husband, Tilon Hanley; her mother, Grace Emily Livingston; and her step-father, Clyde Livingston.
Claudia was born in Charleston, SC, and later moved to Orangeburg, SC. She graduated from Francis Marion University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and returned to Charleston where she was an educator for over 20 years. She loved spending time with her children, her dog Duncan, and enjoying the beauty that Charleston's waterways, beaches, and parks offer. She was an amazing spirit who cared about everyone she met deeply, a trait that will never be forgotten.
At this time the family will have a small private memorial ceremony with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Claudia's name to: MUSC's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences or Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston.
