Maj. Clark Latrobe Remsburg, Sr. USAF (Ret.)

Clark Remsburg, Sr., 90, of Charleston, SC, passed away November 21, 2022.  Clark was born in Fayetteville, NC, on February 3, 1932, the son of Mr. Robert and Mrs. Annie Remsburg. While his career was in the United States Air Force and he served in the Vietnam war, his passion was his family. Known to his grandchildren as a “gentle giant”, Clark exhibited a fierce passion for the wellbeing of his family. He loved life and lived unapologetically. Described as one of the most joyful people they’d ever met, Clark’s eyes displayed a compassionate heart for others and a deep love for the world around him. He was a fantastic storyteller seemingly to always have a story to match the circumstance.

Clark was a longtime choir member in the military chapels during his travels across the United States at various duty stations from one end of the country to the other. After retiring from the Air Force, he actively served as an elder and Clerk of Session at First Scots Presbyterian Church. He taught the college age Sunday school class and mentored untold numbers of young people over the years. He was part of many different groups within the church. If the doors of the church were open, he and his wife, Joyce, were most likely there.

Clark is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, Clark (Marilyn); grandchildren, Shiloh Hernandez (Michael), Rachel Remsburg, Luke Remsburg, Hannah Remsburg and Julian King; and great-granddaughter Nisreen; and other nieces and nephews. Clark is preceded in death by parents, Robert, and Annie Remsburg; daughters, Anne Remsburg and Melissa King (Howard). His Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, December 28th, 2022, in First Scots Presbyterian Church at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Scots Presbyterian Church, 53 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC, 29401, (<<https://abundant.co/firstscots/give>>).
