Clarice Frances Leary Blume

Clarice Frances Leary Blume, 86, of Mount Pleasant, SC, wife of the late William M. Blume, Sr. died Sunday, January 13, 2013. The relatives and friends of Clarice Blume are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Thursday, January 17, 2013 in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 1393 Miles Drive, Charleston, SC at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, SC 29405. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in J. Henry Stuhr North Area Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.

Clarice was born on February 11, 1926 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Joseph Standing Leary and Clarice Frances Cammer Leary. She graduated from North Charleston High School. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at Chicora High School and Charleston County District 4 Office as well as the main office downtown. While working for the Charleston County Schools she was elected employee of the year. She also volunteered for years at Summerville Medical Center. She was a member of The Church of the Good Shepherd and former member of St. Peter's By the Sea. She was very involved with her church serving on the Altar Guild, a former member of the Daughters of the King and also a Sunday School Teacher.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Youmans and her husband, Jim, of Awendaw, SC, sons, William M. Blume, Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Thomas J. Blume and his wife, Kathy, of Springfield, VA; brother, Joseph S. Leary and his wife, Gail, of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Allyson Brown and her husband, Ell, of Awendaw, SC, Matt Youmans of Awendaw, SC, William M. Blume, III and his wife, Lisa, of Jacksonville, FL, Christopher N. Blume of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Katherine M. Blume of Charleston, SC, Nicole L. B. Clarke and her husband, Tommy, of Charleston, SC, and one great grandchild, Thomas Fox Clarke of Charleston, SC.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, 1393 Miles Drive, Charleston, SC 29407.
