On Sunday, November 11, 2018, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Christopher Allen Heide of Mount Pleasant, SC, husband, father, son, grandson and brother passed away at the age of 28. He is survived by his wife Brehanna Heide, children David Heide, 5, and Addison Heide, 2, parents Nancy Heide of Mount Pleasant, SC, Roger Heide of Greenville, SC, brother Adam Heide of Fort Mill, SC, step-mother Katy Heide of Fort Mill, SC, brother Michael Heide of Mt. Pleasant, SC, grandparents M. Anne "Mimi" Thornton of Mount Pleasant, David "Grandpa" and Margaret Parlman of Isle of Palms, SC, aunts Autumn Steele, Ellen Richards, and Laura Martin, cousins Aubrie Martin, Becca Richards, Caroline Westover, Courtenay McDowell, Hailey Richards, Heywood Richards, Holly Steele, Kristen Fernandez, and Ryan Martin, his best friends, Steven "Fish" Conners and Jackson Butcher, his fellow soldiers, and his dog, Kaika.
Christopher was a ten-year veteran of the United States Army, and faithfully served his country both at home and abroad. A graduate of Wando High school, he was an active member of the ROTC. He enjoyed playing hockey, football, and basketball, and was an avid fan of the Carolina Gamecocks, Carolina Hurricanes, and Carolina Panthers. Christopher will forever be remembered for bearing an unrelenting devotion to the support of his family, friends, and brothers in arms, always putting others far ahead of himself. His funny, energetically charismatic, larger-than-life personality will be missed beyond words by all of his family, friends, and those multitudes of souls, from Charleston to Korea, who had the honor of his company and brotherhood.
His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. Interment with full military honors will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Mount Pleasant Chapel on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
