Cheryl Boswell Gregorie, 65, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, died Sunday, October 25, 2015. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, October 29, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday in the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 2:00 until time of the service.
Cheryl was born November 14, 1949 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late James Evans Boswell and the late Mary Frances Johnson Boswell. She graduated from Moultrie High School in 1967 and helped coordinate the school's reunions. Cheryl attended Clemson University and was one of the first female cheerleaders. She had a diverse career that included working for the Isle of Palms Fire Department and managing her real estate investments. Though, her greatest joy and investment was raising her three sons over a long period of time. They are aged, 41, 34, and 23. She always had a child to care for. Cheryl was the Past President of the Home Owners Association for Simmons Point, was involved in the community, and was a founding member of Save Shem Creek Corp. She also attended Seacoast Community Church.
She is survived by three sons, Ferdinand Gregorie, VI and his wife, Lisa, and their children, Olivia and Ian, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, James Boswell Gregorie and his wife, Dawn, and their son, James, Jr., of Mount Pleasant, SC, and David Royall Gregorie and his fianceé, Carolyn Reeves, of Mount Pleasant, SC; one sister, Bliss Westendorff Boswell Morris and her husband, Eddie, of Jacksonville, AL; one brother, Clarence Westendorff and his wife, Martha, of St. Hedbig, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
