Charlton Lane Butler

Charlton Lane Butler, Sr., 52, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017. His funeral service will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017 in Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church 300 Broad Street, Georgetown, SC at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Wednesday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Charlton was born on November 29, 1964 in Charleston, SC, a son of Sheila Hinson Butler and the late Herbert Joseph Butler. He was a former member of the Agricultural Society of South Carolina, Saint Andrew's Society, Carolina Yacht Club, and Society of Colonial Wars, South Carolina Chapter.

In addition to his mother of Georgetown, SC, Charlton is survived by two sons: Charlton Lane Butler, Jr. (Amber) of Norfolk, VA and Edward Fraser Butler (Brooke) of Charleston, SC; one grandson, Mason Murray; two brothers: Herbert Joseph Butler, Jr. (Helen) and Barre McLeod Butler (Fran) all of Charleston, SC; a cousin Edward Rhett Butler (Haruko) of New York, NY; two nieces; two nephews; and one great-nephew.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
