Charlotte Porte Mitchum

Charlotte Lurena Porte Mitchum, widow of Jack Dempsey Mitchum of Huger, SC passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2010 in a local hospital.  The relatives and friends of Charlotte P. Mitchum are invited to attend her Funeral Service at the graveside on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Apple Old Field Cemetery, Huger, SC at 11:00 o'clock.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL from 6:00 until 8:00 o'clock. Mrs. Mitchum was born May 6, 1936, in Charleston County, South Carolina, daughter of the late John Thomas Porte and Lilly Potter Porte.  She was a homemaker and loved to spend time with her family and friends.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she will be missed by all who knew her.  Surviving are her children, Rhonda L. Campbell of Awendaw, SC, Garner Mitchum, Furman Mitchum and Billy Mitchum, all of Huger, SC; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two children, Elizabeth L. Mitchum and Justin L. Mitchum.
